Here is my latest tutorial on how I do the similar 300/zombie look or also called dragan style (inspired by http://andrzejdragan.com/). This time I'll just keep the tutorial short since I'll be needing to finish some other stuffs for today.
Note: This tutorial requires user's with at least intermediate level skills in Photoshop.
1. Open the image in Photoshop and press ctrl + J to make a copy of the background layer. Press again ctrl + J to make a 2nd copy and change the blend mode of the 2nd copy to multiply. Now go to the layer below it (1st copied layer) and go to Image/Adjustment -> Shadow/Highlight. Play a little with the settings so that your pic doesn't have to many dark areas.
2. Make again a new copy of the last layer (3rd one) and we will be using this time the Dodge tool. Set range to "Highilights" and exposure to 30%. Now go around the pupils of the eyes, dodge a little and below his eyes and near his eyebrows. Try to add also very very slight adjustment in Brightness/Contrast
3. Next make again a new copy of that layer, and go to Filter/Other -> Highpass. Play a little around with the settings and hit ok. Go back to your layer and set the blending mode to Soft Light. This should give your pic the initial details in face shape and hair.
4. Never ending ctrl+ J...hehehe. Well make another copy of that layer and this time press ctrl + U to open up Hue/Saturation tool. Desaturate the pic a little bit to remove the yellowish/reddish skin color.
5. Now the final step would be to repeat step 3 and 4 by same sequence. Remember to adjust the settings a little bit more than your previous settings. Concentrate more on the details of the nose, eyes, lips etc. You can later on keep on playing with the dodge and burn tool to give the pic even more details and sharpness.
